leaving for the Philippines….
First, my bonenkai. The end of the year party for my school. Basically used to forget the past year and refresh yourself for the coming year. This is Japanese culture at it’s best.
Second, the 2 day sports festival at my base school. Each class competes with one another in Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton and Ping Pong. It was pretty cool. Even played on the teacher’s baseball team.
Everyone have a good Christmas.

Other than that, i was Santa Claus this last Saturday for a daycare of 84 kids, they didn’t mention the 100+ parents with video cameras. It was pretty cool. Went in, said i’d come from the north pole, i hoped they had all been good boys and girls, elves are making toys etc. Then handed out presents to each kid. What a huge difference between high school kids and day care kids. They were all full of questions and not shy…like normal kids almost. The catch to this whole thing was that my bonenkai was the night before. A bon-enkai is like an end of the year party but apparently is a night to forget the entire year. So needless to say, a little bit of drinking occured. I took some crazy video of it, but haven’t editted it yet. I’ll come back and add it to this blog later. Kinda relaxed on the video editting but i’m still taking alot of it.
Patch came over a few weeks ago and spent 4 days with Mo and I. We met him in Tokyo, took him out, then he came back to Fukushima for a few days just to hang out. It was good to see someone from back home and I think in the next few months we have quite a few people coming over. So it should be good, but hectic. So, other than that, nothing really going on. My presentation at the Mid Year Conference wasn’t too bad although I was nervous out of my face and thought my heart was going to beat through my chest. Uhh…that’s about it for now. Oh and I finally finished the video of the Sukugawa Fire Festival that we went to in the beginning of November (?) i think. Check it out below.
